Replace our Six-Pack or Avidyne Entegra Panel with the Garmin 10.6″ Touchscreen Flight Displays for Your Cirrus Aircraft
Exclusive NexAir Savings — Garmin TXi puts a revolution in flight technology at your fingertips. With these clean-sheet TXi designs, Garmin has created a smart, scalable way to upgrade your aircraft and help improve the safety of each flight.
NexAir has done 30+ installs of the TXi in the Cirrus ranging from early six-pack to late G3 Avidyne Entegra models. Pilots love the speed of these new processors. Its like a Garmin NXi with touchscreen.
It is recommended to install both the Primary Flight Display (PFD) and the Multi-Function Display (MFD) due to the screen layout (size) being so different than the Entegra.
At NexAir, we fabricate a complete (over-braided) harness and we include the option of Engine Information (EIS) and second ADAHRS for the MFD. This can keep the cost of the MFD down to just a MFD, and the Engine Information and/or ADAHRS added down the road if desired.
TXi Packages for the Cirrus are as follows :
$35,415 10.6″ Primary Flight Display (PFD)
The 10.6″ TXi PFD in the Cirrus will replace either the six-pack of flight instruments or the Avidyne Entegra PFD.
NexAir will fabricate a new panel to replace the original instrument panel. If you are keeping the MFD (Not recommended) the MFD and engine instruments will remain the same.
The display will incorporate an internal Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) and the Air Data Computer (ADC) will mount to the rear of the display.
OPTIONS :
$1,850: Synthetic Vision – Optional SVT™ synthetic vision technology enhances situational awareness in all phases of flight, with 3D depictions of terrain, obstacles and airports.
This option can be done during installation or added at later time.
$2,250: Avidyne DFC90 Unlock Card. If your Cirrus already had a DFC90 Autopilot and you want to keep it, there is a unlock required from Garmin to allow the interface between the DFC90 and the PFD.
$3,150: Add a Garmin GCU485 PFD Controller. The PFD Controller provides dedicated controls for PFD functions (in addition to display).
$32,850 10.6″ Multi-Function Display (MFD) / Engine Information System (EIS)
The 10.6″ TXi MFD in the Cirrus will replace the Avidyne Entegra Multi-Function Display and provide standard mapping function. Engine Information System (EIS) – If your Cirrus had a Signal Interface Unit (SIU) or Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) to display engine instruments on the Avidyne MFD then you will need to have them replaced with the new Garmin Engine Interface Adapter (GEA). This will replace your existing SIU or DAU and will display all engine parameters on the MFD. If you had mechanical gauges on the right side (SIU) then these will be replaced with a glove box similar to the later model Cirrus aircraft.
OPTIONS :
$5,300: Add Garmin GDL69A XM Weather / Audio.
GDL 69 SXM delivers SiriusXM satellite weather to your avionics display. For audio entertainment in the cockpit, the sound-enabled GDL 69A SXM also provides SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
Get Detailed Weather
This remote datalink receiver helps you make informed decisions based on the weather. With a subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Weather, GDL 69 SXM brings continuous, detailed weather information to your GNS series navigators, GTN™ and GTN™ Xi series avionics, and TXi series flight displays.
The SiriusXM network’s powerful satellites deliver seamless coverage at any altitude across the continental U.S. and its coastal regions as well as southern Canada. Choose from available SiriusXM Aviation weather packages that provide METAR data and animated NEXRAD imagery as well as current reports on precipitation, lightning, winds aloft, echo tops, turbulence, freezing levels, TFRs and more.
Listen to Satellite Radio
With a subscription, GDL 69A SXM delivers SiriusXM Satellite Radio to your aircraft. Enjoy a variety of continuous news, sports, music and entertainment programming anywhere nationwide. GDL 69A SXM interfaces with your cockpit audio panel control to play through the aircraft’s audio system.
$12,800: Add Garmin GDL69A XM Weather / Audio and a Second Air Data/Attitude/Heading Reference System (ADAHRS).
The MFD has the capability to provide a secondary ADAHRS system for redundancy to the primary ADAHRS. With a failure of the PFD, the system will go to reversionary mode and display the ADI on the MFD. With a failure of the MFD the pilot can display engine information onto the PFD providing an additional level of safety.
Because the MFD in the Cirrus is mounted on an angle, this display will have a remote mounted ADAHRS. This unit is mounted on a new panel in front of the PFD.
Additional Options to Enhance your new Cirrus TXi Panel
$29,600: Add Garmin GFC500 3-Axes Autopilot and GI-275 Backup Electronic Flight Display.
The GFC 500 autopilot uniquely integrates with a combination of a standby GI 275 electronic flight instrument interfaced to a G500 TXi™ flight display to provide pilots with an economical and modern autopilot solution. The autopilot mode controller contains large dedicated keys and knobs, a control wheel that allows for easy adjustment to aircraft pitch, airspeed and vertical speed and a Level Mode that returns the aircraft to straight-and-level flight with the push of a dedicated button.
The full-featured GFC 500 autopilot provides general aviation aircraft with a simple, lightweight, cost-effective autopilot upgrade path. Incorporating solid state attitude with robust self-monitoring capabilities, the GFC 500 provides superior autopilot performance, greater reliability, and safety benefits that are similar to the popular GFC 700 autopilot. In addition to traditional autopilot capabilities such as altitude hold, vertical speed and heading modes, the GFC 500 also includes altitude preselect, VNAV1, Level Mode, Underspeed and Overspeed protection and more. Pilots can also select, couple and fly various instrument approaches, including GPS, ILS, VOR, LOC and back course approaches when paired with a compatible Garmin GPS navigator.
